Erin and I have been friends since high school. I was so honored she contacted me to capture her gorgeous Lake Norman wedding. This was my first wedding outside of Virginia, and I was more than thrilled to travel! I cannot imagine all the hard work these two put into their day. Not only to plan this gorgeous wedding, but during a pandemic. I give so much credit to the couples who got married this year. You would never know Erin and Jeffrey’s day was altered or adjusted in any away. They were both literally beaming with joy all. day. long.

I’ve actually made this drive to North Carolina many times. My brother and sister in-law live very close to the wedding venue location. To be perfectly honest, my husband usually does all the driving and I get to kick back and relax the entire trip. Okay, not exactly, because we have two kids under 5 and I’m basically the entertainer and snack administrator. Haha, but this trip was fun because my sweet friend, Robin, joined me as my second shooter and we had so much fun on our girls weekend trip together!

Erin and Jeffrey’s story is one of the sweetest love stories I’ve ever heard. They met for the first time when they were just three years old. They were most definitely destined to be together. Fate continued to make sure they stay connected as they grew up in different cities, until finally they became a couple and the rest is history!

Erin and Jeffrey’s wedding ceremony took place in his parents backyard on Lake Norman. The views they enjoy on a daily bases is astonishing to me. Erin and Jeffrey may have had to change their wedding venue and reduce the guest list quite a bit, but it was a gorgeous day. We had a blast! It was even calling for rain the entire weekend, right up until we left Virginia (I packed my rain boots and many umbrellas); however, the weather was incredible! It was the perfect day for Erin and Jeffrey to start their new life together.
